ifilm explores psychological drama ‘Dressage’

'Dressage' director explains about the element that makes psychological drama out of the flick.

In an ifilm exclusive report, the director of the movie, Pouya Badkoubeh, explains about the elements which make a psychological drama out of ‘Dressage’.

The movie depicts the subject of generation gap in its best possible way. The issue of conflict in this movie is multisided. The generation gap that exists between “Golnesa”, the central character of the movie who is a teenage girl, and her parents, from one side, and the wide gap that exists between the upper-class and the lower-class of the society identify different sides of the conflict in the movie.

‘Dressage’ invites us to see how disagreement between the members of a middle class family and social as well as economic pressures of society can lead to the loss of morality and generation gap.

The movie is categorized as psychological drama because it shows the gradual impact of different pressures at home and in the society on the mind of people and how these pressures push the individuals to commit crime or engage in unconventional behavior to achieve what they want.

The flick questions the type of human relationship which is dictated by the society. It shows people who are just after fulfilling their wishes which have been imposed on them by advertisement and capitalism.

“A bunch of well-off teenagers rob a shop – for fun. One of them, 16-year-old Golnesa, hides the recording of the robbery. First the friends, and later their parents, as well as the girl’s parents demand her to give the video away, so it would not get into the hands of the police,” the plot summery reads.

Ali Mosaffa, Shabnam Moqaddami, Houshang Tavakkoli, Alireza Sanifar, Alireza Aqakhani, and Siamak Adib are among the cast members.
